This easy marshmallow popcorn balls are made with melted marshmallows and butter, like rice krispie squares, but with popcorn instead of cereal. For the balls you’ll also add in some sprinkles (we used our dark rainbow sprinkles) and chocolate candies of your choice. The pumpkins are made with a little bit of orange food coloring and a candy corn for the stem!

The recipe can be top 14 allergen free, gluten free and vegan – depending on the choice of chocolate. marshmallows, and toppings.
The first step is to gather all your tools and ingredients.
Marshmallow Balls
Tools Needed:
- Bowl
- Stovetop + double broiler or microwave
- Measuring Cup
- Baking sheet pan
- Parchment paper
- Baking Tray
Ingredients Needed:
- 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn or 6 cups popped popcorn
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ cup (vegan) butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 cups mini marshmallows
For Pumpkins:
- Candy corn & Orange food coloring
For Balls:
- Sprinkles, chocolate candies
Directions:
- Line baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
- Pop popcorn in your preferred method. Removed any unpopped kernels and place into large bowl. Sprinkle popcorn with salt, and set aside.
- In a large pan over medium-high heat, melt your butter. Add in the vanilla and marshmallows.
- Stir constantly until the marshmallows are melted and creamy.
- If making pumpkins you will want to add in the orange food coloring at this time. You can judge the amount to use by how dark you would like to make your pumpkins. (optional)
- Pour the marshmallow mixture over your popcorn and stir until popcorn is fully coated.
- Allow to set for a minute and then stir in your sprinkles and chocolate candies. (optional)
- Separate into 10 sections and shape into pumpkins or balls. If the mixture is sticking to your hands spray them with non-stick cooking spray as needed.
- Place candy corn into tops of pumpkins. (optional)
- Place balls/pumpkins on parchment paper and allow to set for about an hour.

Store popcorn balls in an airtight container at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to a week. Here’s a closer look at the pumpkins:
