Birthday Cake Popcorn is such a fun way to celebrate any occasion- a birthday, a movie night or just because!
With just 4 ingredients it is such a fun and tasty treat. This Birthday Cake Popcorn is so easy to make and the white chocolate just goes perfectly with the popcorn – add in sprinkles and it’s a party!
Ingredients Needed:
- 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn or 6 cups popped popcorn
- One bag (7-10 oz.) white chocolate chips
- Can also use white chocolate bark if you have a safe option
- ½ cup Kate’s Safe & Sweet Vanilla Cake Mix
- ½ cup sprinkles + extra for topping if you’d like
Supplies Needed:
- Bowl
- Stovetop + double broiler or microwave
- Measuring Cup
- Baking sheet pan
- Wax paper or silicone baking mat
Directions:
- Place wax paper on a baking sheet and set aside.
- Pop popcorn in your preferred method. Removed any unpopped kernels and place into large bowl and set aside.
- Melt the white chocolate chips in a double boiler or in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave. If melting in the microwave, heat it for one minute and stir. Continue heating at 20 second intervals to avoid burning the chocolate.
- Once the chocolate is melted, add the dry cake mix to it and stir. Pour over the popcorn and stir to coat.
- Add the sprinkles into the bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed.
- Place popcorn on the baking sheet and top with additional sprinkles
- Let set for at about 10-15 minutes and then break apart into small clusters. Serve and enjoy!
- Store remainder in an airtight container.
