Brownie Mix Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly spray the side of the pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. If using a larger pan, line with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, blend the brownie mix, water, and oil together until smooth. Scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Note: batter will be thick.
  5. Bake on middle rack for about 12-16 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and allow pan to cool on wire rack for at least 2 hours.

Frosting Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer, or a stand mixer, combine the butter of choice with the shortening. Whip until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add the contents of the vanilla frosting mix and 1 tablespoon of milk at a time. Whip again until the frosting is light and fluffy, adding a splash more of milk if needed.
  3. Separate frosting into bowls depending on how many colors you would like to make. Using your safe food coloring color as you’d like.
  4. Prepare your piping bag(s) using a piping tip #3.
  5. Transfer different colors to piping bags.

How to Pipe the Spiders

Using the piping bag. You can alternate and change up the colors. This is so much fun for kids to do.

Start with the center body of the spider in one color, then add 8 legs in another, and eyes with the same color as the legs. Of course you can change up the colors as you’d like!

The kids thought these brownie bites were (not so) spooky good.
